Community College Geography Scholarship

The Association of American Geographers is pleased to announce a national
scholarship program for community college students. Two $1,000 scholarships
will be awarded to students from community colleges, junior colleges, city
colleges, or similar two-year educational institutions who will be
transferring as geography majors to four year colleges and universities.
The award consists of a scholarship to be used for any educational expenses
in the amount of $1,000 and a formal certificate of merit. The formal
announcement of the award will take place at the annual meeting of the AAG.
Criteria:
Selection will be based on the overall quality of the application,
scholastic excellence and academic promise. Financial need will also be
considered. The selection committee will observe the purposes and

Hogaboom Leadership Writing Contest

1. Choose an Internet safety topic from the list on the website
2. In a paragraph, explain the creative approach that you will use so that
your video is engaging, and actionable to teens. Explain what lessons

confirmation that the topic is open and that your creative approach has not
been used by others. This will minimize videos that are duplicative. If you

3. Then begin conceptualizing, storyboarding, scripting, producing, and
editing your video! Lights, camera, action!
4. Hint! Be creative, impactful, and actionable – please remember that
engaging videos that are instructional, provide non-obvious information, and
are persuasive will be judged the most favorably.

The Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship is available to full-time

Lou Manzie was a woman who dedicated her career to providing safe, decent

Housing Association from 1975 until her death in 2006, she served as an
Officer and Director of NLHA for many years.
This scholarship is to benefit a non-traditional

Welcome: The DLG Viral Video Scholarship Contest™ was created as a
community service project to help educate the public on safe driving
practices by awarding a scholarship to the film student or video production
enthusiast who creates the best public service announcement video.
How It Works: Three scholarships will be awarded to the participant that
creates the best viral video about “Driving under the influence of drugs or
alcohol”. The scholarship is open to anybody (high school students, college

Migrant Farmworker

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to a
deserving student with a history of migrating for employment in agriculture
who has successfully completed one year of college. This support will cover

The Sphinx Competition presented by Chase is
held every year in Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan. The competition is open
to all Junior High, High School, and College age Black and Latino string
players residing in the U.S. The Sphinx Competition offers young Black and
Latino classical string players a chance to compete under the guidance of an
internationally renowned panel of judges and to perform with established
professional musicians in a competition setting. Its primary goals are to
encourage, develop and recognize classical music talent in the Black and
